On August 7, 2022 - our second anniversary and Richmond’s 117th birthday we unveiled our “Celebrate Richmond” Mural. Check out the bios of each artist below. Special thank you to the Michele Seville Public Art Fund for a grant that made this mural possible.


R - Malik Seneferu - maliksart.com @maliksart

An award-winning painter, draughtsman, craftsman, muralist, woodworker, sculptor and illustrator. The breath of Seneferu’s work has traveled globally adorning, books, magazines, and newspaper covers. His art has appeared in New York’s Schaumburg Center, Washington DC’s Smithsonian, London, Durban South Africa’s war against racism conference, and even GOOGLE SF. Seneferu’s work is well known locally as he enjoys live painting while sharing his ArtMagnet invention with his viewers. Malik Seneferu often uses intense color, bold black lines as invocation to his Black culturally centered monograms evoking serenity and abundant joy. Seneferu can also be known for his mantra “REMAIN CREATIVE”.

I - Haven Hibser - @h.a.v.n

Haven Hibser is a painter, illustrator, photographer, and production designer from Berkeley, California. After curating and showing work in Oakland and Chicago, she moved to LA to pursue production design and directing, her focus being the increase in positive, accurate, and informative representation. She currently works as a filmmaker and production designer in Los Angeles.

H - Beatriz Dominguez @bee_ahh_trees

Beatriz is a local Richmond artist, who grew up with a natural talent and curiosity for drawing and painting. She started her mural career in a high school after-school program and later enrolled in animation, figure drawing and graphic design courses throughout her college career. When she’s not working, she volunteers her artistic services for local non-profits.

M - Michelle Guest @eventsignage

Michelle has been painting and drawing since the early 90s. She worked as a sign artist for Trader Joe’s for over 15 years. Most recently she is working with local small businesses and non-profits to create custom signs

O - Torreyanna Barley - torreyannabarley.com

Making art has been my passion and privilege for over 30 years. My work has always been varied, eclectic and personal. It is an honor to draw, paint, construct, sculpt, and imagine for a living. If you have an idea for an image or a photo for a portrait, I would love to bring it to life.

N - Michelle Silva - @msilvaart

Michelle Silva is a Painter, Illustrator, and Occasional Book Binder and Printmaker. Based in the Bay Area. 

She received a degree in Fine Art from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2012.

When she is not making art, she hikes, reads comics, play video games and cooks a lot of food.

D - Zack Bowen - itwentthatway.com @zackinkbowen

Zachary Bowen, also known as "INK", is a Bay Area local artist, who grew up in Anaheim, California. His artistic style is inspired by street art and "the weird." Zack's work has been showcased in multiple Los Angeles art galleries; notably GCS Santa Ana. His mural work can be found scattered around Southern and Northern California. Zack produces his work primarily with acrylics, inks, and spray paints.
